As I’m sure you all know, 1st Drayton Scout Group is run completely by a group of willing volunteers. Keith and myself have been running the Beaver Colony between the two of us for some time, with the valued assistance of young Kenneth who has been volunteering as part of his Duke of Edinburgh’s award.
Due to ongoing work and study committments within the team we deparately need to recruit more adult volunteers to help us with our Colony evenings and events, and this is where you come in. We would welcome any parents interested in becoming involved in scouting and helping the children succeed in obtaining badges and awards. The amount of help you can give may be as little or as much as you like, from assisting at a Colony evening once or twice each term, being a guest for an evening and demonstrating a skill or creative activity to the children, or even getting more involved with Scouting and all the opportunities it has to offer.
Ideally we would like at least to be able to set up a rota of enthusiastic parents to assist at meetings each week and ensure that we can continue to run the colony successfully, and would be very grateful if you would be willing to help with this.
If you are able to help in any way; you’re unsure how you could help and would like to know more; or you would like to talk about the types of roles available in scouting, then please talk to me about the options available.
